OBJETIVO: Que el estudiante incorpore conceptos básicos sobre el origen, evolución, diversidad, manejo y estudios de Amphibia (anfibios) y Sauropsida (“reptiles”) especializados.
MÉTODO DOCENTE: Lunes, Curso Teórico-Didáctico (asincrónico) para resolver y analizar lecturas previas, las tecnologías de comunicación serán Correo Electrónico, Formularios Google y ocasionalmente Meet o Zoom (previo aviso). Miércoles, Curso Teórico–Práctico, exposición de tópicos en plataformas Meet o Zoom en el horario de la clase y uso de Moodle para compartir formatos y videos de forma asincrónica, las prácticas de laboratorio se adecuarán en las plataformas digitales.
EVALUACIÓN: Participación oral en clases en línea (Meet o Zoom), revisión de lecturas (Moodle/Correo Electrónico/Formularios), tareas, las prácticas de laboratorio se harán con formatos en línea y herramientas e imágenes para los diferentes grupos de herpetofauna. Se harán dos exámenes mediante Google Forms.

1.- Introducción. a) Historia de la herpetología, b) Estado actual de la conservación de la biodiversidad de anfibios y reptiles.
2.- Origen y evolución de Amphibia y Sauropsida Tetrápodos Grupos basales de Amphibia Amniotas Grupos basales de Sauropsida Evolución de Sauropsida (Parareptiles/Anápsidos//Diápsidos/Aves).
3.- Lissamphibia. a) Diagnosis, filogenia, distribución, conducta, desarrollo, ecología, historia natural y diversidad de: Urodela/Caudata (Salamandras/Tritones/Ajolotes) Gymnophiona (Cecilias) Anura (Ranas/Sapos), b) Declinación de los Lissamphibia Valor, Capital natural, Servicios ambientales.
4.- Sauropsida. a) Diagnosis, filogenia, distribución, conducta, desarrollo, ecología, historia natural y diversidad de: Chelonia/Testudines (Tortugas) Crocodylia (Cocodrilos/Caimanes/Gaviales) Rhynchocephalia (Tuátara) Squamata (Lagartijas/Serpientes/Anfisbénidos), b) Grupos vulnerables y en extinción, Valor, Capital natural, Servicios ambientales.
5.- Herpetología en la práctica, Educación ambiental, Normas/Convenciones (estatus de las especies): NOM-059, IUCN, CITES, Prácticas de campo y colecta (Normatividad, Gestión, Colecta, Transporte, Ética de usos), Colecciones científicas (En México y el mundo, Curaduría, Fijación, Catálogo). Identificación de la biodiversidad herpetofaunística (Definición de linajes, Identificación de Amphibia y de Sauropsida No-Aves), Acervos vivos (Experimentación, Crianza, Manejo, Cuidado, Sanidad), Comercio, Tráfico, Especies invasoras, Contaminación biológica, Conservación (Legislación, Programas, Aprovechamiento).
