Temas selectos de óptica entre la clásica y la cuántica

Descripción del curso
Desde una punto de vista teórico-experimental este curso busca proveer al estudiante de una perspectiva sobre la frontera de la óptica clásica y cuántica. Tendremos especial cuidado en abordar temas clave y que no son comúnmente incluidos en los en la currícula obligatoria en la carrera de Física. Cruzaremos cinco veces la frontera entre la óptica clásica y la cuántica. Tendremos un breve recordatorio del formalismo correspondiente a las ondas clásicas con un enfoque adecuado a la teoría de la medición fotónica contemporánea. Veremos también su homólogo cuántico. Describiremos en detalle los tipos de detectores disponibles en la tecnología contemporánea para luz clásica y luz cuántica. Una vez establecidas las teorías y las bases de la detección de la luz mostraremos la diferencia fundamental entre sus estadísticas. Posteriormente abordaremos los conceptos de coherencia de primer y segundo orden que son una referencia gruesa para diferenciar entre luz con naturaleza clásica y cuántica para como introducción al entrelazamiento cuántico. Finalmente estudiaremos en detalle algunos de los experimentos que han resultado un bastión para el desarrollo de la ciencia cuántica contemporánea.

Habrá dos juntas para fijar horario: martes 28 de enero y jueves 30 de enero, 2020 en el salón Sandoval Vallarta, edificio Moshinsky, Instituto de Física, UNAM. En la primer junta se acordó mantener este horario durante el resto del semestre. Lo confirmaremos en la segunda junta.
